A Great Yarmouth-based transport users group has said it welcomes the new £2 fares across Norfolk bus companies.
From today (January 3), single fares have been reduced by up to 80pc on some journeys as part of the three-month "get around for £2" campaign.
Nine bus operators in Norfolk are taking part in the scheme which runs until March 31, including First Bus, Konectbus and Sanders Coaches.
East Norfolk Transport Users Association (ENTUA) said the scheme is "another help toward the current cost of living crisis we are all facing".
An ENTUA spokesperson said: "We welcome this initiative to encourage more people back to local bus services.
"We would like to see more publicity for this cap being made by the operators, and while this campaign is ongoing, we would like to see local operators push their own special offer fares to try to keep hold of any new customers they may have gained.
"Alternatively we would like to see this fare cap continue for a further period later into 2023."
Operators taking part are BorderBus, First, Konectbus, Our Bus, Sanders, Simonds, Coach Services, Stagecoach and Semmence.
