Traffic will be forced on a twelve-mile-long diversion route later this month as work on the A47 gets under way.
National Highways is giving notice that the A47 from the Acle roundabout to the Vauxhall roundabout in Great Yarmouth will be closed from 8pm to 6am everyday for 10 days, beginning on March 18.
According to the agency, both carriageways need repairing and reconstructing which requires all traffic to be diverted through adjoining roads and nearby villages.
The diversion will branch north from either roundabout and follow the Caister bypass and the A1064 for a total of 11.5 miles.
This will take vehicles through Billockby, Fleggburgh, Filby and Caister on a 20-minute detour but this may stretch to up to an hour during morning and evening rush hour.

Last year it was reported that a scheme to upgrade Vauxhall roundabout to make it "compatible with a dualled Acle Straight" was finally going ahead after years of being on ice.
Planners were waiting for the completion of the third river crossing before going ahead with any revamp.
The scheme intends to increase capacity and reduce congestion at what is the main entry point into the town from the west.
