Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes after a new £121m bridge broke down.
Norfolk County Council is advising drivers to avoid the Herring Bridge area in Great Yarmouth while works to fix an issue are carried out.
The bridge, which was opened only six weeks ago, got stuck on Wednesday morning for more than 30 minutes, which the council later stated was a "minor technical fault".
It was previously raised but the bridge remains closed in the "down" position, with cones in place at the entry points on William Adams Way and South Denes Road.
Harris fencing was also installed at both ends of the bridge, blocking the carriageway, cycle lanes and pedestrian crossings.
Councillor Graham Plant said the "health and safety" issue is currently being investigated.
