A popular amusement park has reopened for the new season.

Joyland on the Marine Parade in Great Yarmouth, has welcomed the first visitors of 2024, which is the 75th anniversary of the third-generation family-owned attraction.

Home to the 'Super Snails', the park's main attraction since 1949 has attained an international following, winning bronze for the 'Best Historic Ride' in the UK.

Other attractions in the park include the Spook Express, The Tyrolean Tub Twist, Neptune’s Kingdom, The Jet Cars, The Balloon Wheel, The Major Orbit, The Skydiver, and The Pirate Ship.

The seaside park has teased plans for new attractions, managing director, Michael Cole, said: "A couple of new attractions are planned for the future, a few projects are on the backburner, with one ride up for a complete update."

Discussing the reopening, Mr Cole commented: "We're excited for the new season, our fingers are crossed as we anticipate good weather - and if you come to Great Yarmouth you have to ride the snails!"

He added: "People like what we offer at the park, we're good value, we cater to everyone, and we're one of the most affordable attractions in the country."

With several events planned this year, the theme park is also known for partnering with national clubs to host annual classic car shows on the Marine Parade.

Entry to the park is free and all ages will need to purchase a £2 token for entrance onto rides, the park also offers token value bags worth £20 for 12 and £40 for 25.

Openings dates and times are weather permitting and subject to change, visitors should also be aware of height restrictions for selected rides.
