A new pedestrian crossing worth £230,000 has been given the green light to help improve safety along a main road in a coastal village.
Funding has been secured for a new crossing on Beccles Road A143 in Bradwell, south of Green Lane and Clay Lane, close to Bluebell Meadow and on a route to school.
This comes after campaigns by councillor Carl Annison and Great Yarmouth MP Sir Brandon Lewis following a previous successful drive for a feasibility study by Norfolk County Council.
Mr Annison said the pedestrian crossing - which will be fully funded by Active England - will help bring peace of mind to residents when crossing the road.
"The implementation of this much-needed pedestrian crossing represents a crucial investment in the safety and convenience of our residents, particularly those who regularly navigate this busy thoroughfare," he added.
Sir Brandon Lewis said he was pleased to see his and Mr Annison's joint efforts "paid-off" for people in the area, as many have long considered the main road near Green Lane and Kings Drive a dangerous place to cross.
