A road was blocked in a seaside town after a car crashed into a lamppost leaving it leaning to one side. 

The collision happened shortly after 8pm yesterday in Middleton Road in Gorleston. 

(Image: Submitted) One lane was blocked and access via the Middleton Road and A47 roundabout was closed by the fire service while they made the scene safe.

The lamppost was damaged by the impact (Image: Submitted)The woman driving the car suffered minor injuries and while an ambulance attended the scene, transportation to hospital was not required.

The road was reopened again by 10.45pm.

The damaged lamppost has been reported to the relevant authorities.
