A community centre is marking its 75th anniversary with a summer fun day celebration.
Gorleston's Shrublands Youth and Adult Centre, has grown into a popular and well used community hub, offering comprehensive activities, advisory services, and abundant opportunities.
Established in 1949, the centre offered a breadth and depth of activities including physical training, table tennis, music classes, and discussion sessions.
The centre was converted from a farm and by the early 60s its membership reached 2,000 with an annual attendance of 75,000 at the centre.

The centre provided a vast array of stage shows by the Shrublands Drama group, along with advice from different organisations including the Citizens Advice Bureau which launched in January 1951.
Originally owned by the education department of the Great Yarmouth Borough Council and then by Norfolk County Council, the centre has undergone considerable changes.
The Shrublands Community Trust, a charity now operating the community centre, continues to offer enriching and diverse opportunities.
The summer fun day on August 10 starts from 11am to 3pm, features games, stalls, walking football, face-painting, and a car boot sale, among many activities, and is free for all attendees.
Organisers say this celebration feels particularly special as the centre continues to provide services similar to those offered at its inception.
The centre boasts of high attendance with weekly visits by thousands and has managed to remain a central part of the community.
The centre today offers social events, sports and health activities, advisory services, and houses a range of services including the Community Foodclub, Community Café, Shrublands Health Centre and many more.
The Shrublands Community Trust collaborates with partners to provide services.
