An arrest has been made after a car smashed into a streetlight casting a road into darkness.
The crash, between two cars, happened shortly after 10pm yesterday in Balmoral Avenue in Great Yarmouth.
A large emergency presence attended the scene with the fire service closing the road as they made the area safe.
Following the incident, a man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Station for questioning.

He has subsequently been released on bail until August 15.
A spokeswoman for the county council confirmed the streetlight had been removed after the crash last night.
Green granules were also put on the road surface to soak any excess petrol or oil - these will be swept away by the borough council as part of their regular cleaning plans.
An inspector from the Highways department conducted an inspection this morning and found the area to be safe.
