Four people and a dog had to be rescued after their yacht ran aground in Great Yarmouth.

The 23ft vessel came into trouble at Post 36 in Breydon Water during some strong winds last Thursday.

The Great Yarmouth RNLI were quickly dispatched to the scene amid fears the rising tide could blow the stricken boat further into trouble with just three life jackets between the four.

With a gentle tug from the lifeboat John Rowntree, the boat became free from the thick mud.

Once free the boat's battery was found to be flat so the lifeboat crew towed the vessel to Goodchild Marine.
