The speed limit along a 'dangerous' stretch of the A143 could be reduced to 50mph.
Norfolk County Council is currently seeking a traffic revision order for the section of Beccles Road from Belton to Fritton.
Calls for the new speed limit followed a number of crashes.
It is hoped the reduction will be in place by late 2025 providing the legal process, which can be time-consuming, continues without any objections.

In May last year, a grey Vauxhall Mokka collided with a blue Mercedes C-Class which was towing a trailer containing a Range Rover.
A woman in her 70s, who was a passenger in the Vauxhall Mokka, died.
Three others who were in the Mokka were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
In December, two people suffered injuries in a two-car collision on the road.

That month, Mr Annison met with then the Great Yarmouth MP, Brandon Lewis, to discuss the matter, and they went on to lobby the county council to look at all aspects of the highway.
Some issues have already been completed, including hedge-cutting, drainage issues and white lining.
A speed survey was also conducted earlier this year.
In March, funding was secured for a new crossing on the A143 in Bradwell, south of Green Lane and Clay Lane, close to Bluebell Meadow and on a route to school.
Last week, National Highways announced plans to reduce the speed limit on the A47 Acle Straight from 60mph to 50mph.
The news was broadly welcomed by councillors, campaigners and the area's MP Rupert Lowe.
